Book Club

Several members of St. Luke get together on a regular basis to read different books regarding biblical topics and challenges of faith.  The group reads portions of the chosen book and meets over a potluck meal to talk about the selection.  They explore how it relates to what they know about God and the experiences in their lives.

Our next book will be The Gay Gospel? How Pro-Gay Advocates Misread the Bible by Joe Dallas.

For several years, Dallas lived and worked within the "gay Christian" community. But the more he read God's Word and questioned what God's will was for him and all humanity, the more he realized his lifestyle and theology were wrong.

In this book, Dallas provides a

  • thorough background in the development and nature of the "gay gospel"
  • concise, detailed understanding of pro-gay theology's beliefs
  • clear, biblical response to each belief
  • practical, compassionate plan to bring truth to people who believe "gay" and "Christian" are compatible,

In The Gay Gospel? you'll find the crucial balance between conviction and compassion and a practical guide to communicating with those who have embraced the pro-gay theology.
